Given to Major C.G. Evans by Mrs Maud Forbes, from the studio of Stanhope Forbes about 1950 and by descent to previous owner. We bought it at auction - previous owner label on back = David Evans, Sevenoaks. On loan to Penlee Museum from December 1987 to August 1993.
