Provenance
Miss Holland, an itinerant model, was believed to be related to Oscar Wilde, and who turned up one day at Grant's studio at 8 Fitzroy Street asking for work. There are at least six paintings of her, as well as some drawings, and this work is a study for the best of them. Pour Vous (Miss Holland) (private collection) was in Agnew's 1937 Duncan Grant Exhibition.1
